CAC Professionals Trainings
ChildFirst® Missouri
MO-NACA is the certified course provider in Missouri for the ChildFirst® Forensic Interview Protocol, a comprehensive training program developed by the Zero Abuse Project. This course is specifically designed for investigative teams of law enforcement officers, social workers, prosecutors, child protection attorneys, and forensic interviewers.
The ChildFirst® Forensic Interview Protocol integrates field experiences into the course, enhancing the education of front-line child abuse professionals. The training includes lectures, discussions, real interview reviews, skill-building exercises, and role-play interviews. It covers essential aspects such as child development, memory and suggestibility, court testimony, legal considerations, and preparing children for court.
It’s crucial to note that successful completion of the ChildFirst® Forensic Interview Protocol training is just one element of the comprehensive training required to become a skilled forensic interviewer. Attending this course alone does not qualify individuals to conduct forensic interviews; rather, it is a part of a broader training process that involves continuous skills development, mentorship, and peer review.
Those interested in participating must submit an application for approval to register through their local Child Advocacy Center (CAC).
